About Me:
I am a commercial writer for Maritz Travel, but my true passion belongs to God and romance! My debut novel, A Passion Most Pure, is in stores now and the second and third books in the series (A Passion Redeemed and A Passion Denied) will be released September 2008 and February 2009. I have a heart to write “Mainstream Inspirational” or “Edgy Inspirational,” hoping to reach the 21st-century woman with compelling love stories laced with God’s precepts. I live in Missouri with my husband and our golden retriever, and have two grown children and a daughter-in-law.

Review for "It's Not About Me" by Michelle Sutton

Finally! In an amoral society that pushes young people to the edge, we have an “edgy” novel that pushes right back! Kudos to Michelle Sutton for her debut novel, It’s Not About Me, which confronts real problems encountered by real youth—sexual pressure, drinking, pornography—and counters them with a message of hope and faith that is so vital for today’s young adults. This compelling story gives a rare and honest glimpse into the “perfect” life of Annie Meyers, a young woman on the threshold of… Continue

Hi Julie, thanks for 'agreeing' to be my friend. LOL
I need to settle down and read what's going on here. Here lately, I've been too busy to lurk.

You're welcome Julie. I didn't expect you to remember who I was however as I know you must get many readers contacting you. I am impatiently awaiting books 2 & 3 although I saw that FIRST already has a spot reserved for touring book 3 in 2009. In the meantime I will be looking out for book 2 to release this fall.

Thanks for accepting my invite. I tried to sign up for your newsletter the other day and it kept telling me that it didn't like my e-mail address. It was crazy. I did want to receive your news letter. I've had exciting things happen and really cool people at my book club meetings lately. Check it out! www.psalm516.blogspot.com.

I've been bragging to all of my friends about your book. I got them hooked. :)

I'm not sorry you kept me up. :) I was hooked from page one, and all the way to the end. Michelle had warned me that she was hooked, so I knew I would be too. I'm so glad that she recommended the book to me. It's one I'm going to enjoy wearing out. :)

My sister and I never had a love triangle or sibling rivalry, but I always thought she was the better one out of the two of us. She was the sweet one. The good girl out of the two of us. Not that I was ever bad, but I'm the stubborn one. Obstinate. Once I get something in my head, it's pretty hard to deter me. lol And like Faith, I'm the one with the temper. My sister and I have always been close. There were just times that I was jealous of her. She was the one that men noticed before me. She's dated, and I never have. And now she's been married for 6 months. So as I was reading your book yesterday, I found myself saying, 'I can so relate'. To certain aspects anyway.

I loved your scenes when Collin would deliberately push Faith's buttons. I found myself laughing so many times. :D It just made me like him even more.

I loved every thing about your book. I don't think there was anything I didn't like. Well, there is one thing. It ended. lol I could go on and on with listing things I liked about your book, but I won't. All I'll say is that I look forward to your next one. And I would be happy to post a review for you.

I hope you have a great week.

Julie,
I started your book Saturday and finished it yesterday. I couldn't put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not into historical's, but I loved yours. :) I can't wait for the next one.

I loved Faith and Collin! I was rooting for them throughout the whole story. I was practically holding my breath when Collin found out that Faith was engaged. I was devastated for him. Knowing that he lost the only woman he's ever loved. And then when they saw each other again after a year, wow! I couldn't help but smile when Collin kissed her and said that they still got it. lol It was great! I haven't enjoyed a book that much in a long time. I was completely riveted by the story. I believe reading it in a day proved that. ;) The only time I set it down was when I was putting clothes in the washer and dryer, but found a way to read it while I was folding clothes. :) I just couldn't stop reading it. I had to find out what was going to happen next. Late Saturday night I kept saying that I would read one more chapter and then I would go to bed. Well, that didn't work. It was about 4am when I finally decided I HAD to stop. lol :) And I don't regret doing that at all. I haven't had that reaction with a book in a long time.

As I was reading about Faith's jealousy of her sister, I couldn't help but think on how much that sounded like me. I've always thought that my little sister was always the beautiful out of the two of us. Some of the similarities between Faith and myself were quite scary. Like Faith, I'm also very close to my dad.

I'm an unmarried woman myself, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I would highly recommend your book to all of my friends. Married and single, but especially my single friends. I loved it.

Have a great week.
