On my blog www.fictionmatters.blogspot.com
I've asked the question: Where
are the heroes of fiction?

I would LOVE to hear about your hero of fiction, the book(s) that
changed your mind, changed your world, changed your direction. I'm
hoping to provide readers of the blog some fantastic insights into the
power of fiction - today's fiction as well as yesterdays.

Drop by my blog and leave a comment about your hero of fiction. I'm
planning to compile responses (left as comments or e-mailed to me at
bcg@... ) and share them as an
indepth post, one by one.

I believe that writing changes the world. I know you believe it too. I'm
hoping you will share part of that journey with the blog readers.

Peace,

Bonnie Grove

Hi again Kim,
I sent an email to the address listed on your web page that has a proposed book cover. I'd be jazzed if you'd give me a modicum of feedback on its contents. Thanks!!!

Hi Kim,
Would you object to me putting a link to your website from mine?

I have seven authors lined up, and at least six more who are currently
working on their submission to my blog.
)

I'm excited to be able to play host to these talented Canadian authors.
Their books range from children's to adult fiction. Picture books, to
fictionalized biography.
And that's just the beginning.

I was amazed how many US writers responded to the call, and so I've
decided to allow some exceptions. It's so great to be introduced to a
new author, no matter where he or she is from. The main focus will be on
Canadians.

Many of these US authors have strong Canadian ties, also, that they are
happy to share with you in this up close look at the art and the artist.

Some of the authors are new to the publishing scene. Others are old
pros. Each has a great story behind the story to share with you.

I'm finalizing the format I want to use for this exciting event, and the
author highlight will begin on Monday, Feb 11 (my daughter's 5th
birthday!), 2008.

I hope you're as excited as I am. Each day I hear from three or four
more authors who are excited to share their work with you in this fun
and intimate format.

There is still time for your fiction to be highlighted on my blog.

author highlight will be e-mailed to you!

Peace!

No, I'm not the cover artist. The publisher hired someone to do that who does covers for other publishers, too.

What do you think of my revisions on the book cover? Changed the dark brown to tan and darkened my name.

Hi Kimberlee, good you looked the other way with PA, but yep, Ive got to take that as a learning curve. So this is what I think when I think about the whole thing 'Well, that's part of paying my dues, aight?'
It sort of works, makes me feel I am working my way to the top, haha!
And thanks for inviting me. All the best in your writing, too.

Well, thanks for giving me a chance :) I can't help the "About Me" stuff... I was a C/D student is high school, and was told by all my teachers I'd never be anything. Guess I got it in me to prove them all wrong. LOL Of course, I have a ways to go. :) And self-discipline...what is that? I'd be 20 lbs. lighter if I could figure that out. Maybe a neater house too....hmmm...the possibilities.

Kimberlee, It's great to find another mild mannered church secretary like myself. (he he) And I would probably enjoy shopping more with the fundage---and a bod.

After reading your "about me" I'm afraid I have to take back my invitation to be my friend. You qualify in my book as a 'stinkin overachiever', which I've listed on my blog as my one and only pet peeve.

But to be honest, if I had any self-discpline, I would be the worst of em. So, since you're a praying mom and you like action flicks, and since you're so stinkin cute, I guess I'll make an exception. :)

See you at Mt Hermon, for sure.
