Eyebrow raising lines in a book, your book, anyone's book!!!

I thought it would be fun to share a few lines from one of your stories, or if you're a reader, from a book you've read,. The only qualifier is that the lines must have either made your eyebrows disappear when you read them, or you wrote those lines for the kind of response in your reader that would make their brows disappear into their hairlines. Sound like fun? Let's play! I'll start... These lines come from my yet-to-be-published novel titled The Anatomy of Temptation. But I did iContinue

I thought it would be fun to surprise you authors with a sneak feature.

So when you least expect it I may just swoop down and snag a picture of your book cover and post it with a blurb or description of your book. So look out! New and upcoming releases are especially vulnerable. Tee hee.

Please tell me if you like this final cover. Why or why not? It's YA. Ask your teens!

Here is the deal. This cover got the most votes on all sites by people in the targeted age group. So we took your suggestions and tweaked it out. Sooo.... better? Yes or no. And why or why not? Thanks a ton!

Check out this article contrasting and comparing ABA with the CBA. Interesting...

They also compare secular vs. Christian.

So what do you think after reading that?

Another review of mine posted on USA Today!

This is cracking me up. I don't know why my reviews get selected but the first one I discovered on USA Today was my review of Nicole Baart's novel After the Leaves Fall (Tyndale.) The following month my post about Virginia Smith's CFBA featured novel Bluegrass Peril appeared. And I just discovered that on Friday, January 11, 2008, my review of Fallen by Matthew Raley (Kregel) which isn't even released yet, has been posted. Is that fun, or what? Here is the link if you want to check it out for yo… Continue

Fallen by Matthew Raley is edgy and incredibly engaging!

About the book:

In this compelling novel that mirrors church scandals in the news today, Jim, middle-aged bank manager, is torn between a desire to believe the best and suspicion r… Continue

Tell us about the most recent and exciting thing that has happened to you in regards to edgy fiction.

Besides getting my contract back in the mail, it was seeing the best pictures of the models for my cover. They are all so great, narrowing them down is going to be tough! Look for potential covers to vote on very soon so you can help me narrow it down to two and then the final choice.

For readers - what book have you read the most times and why?

Other than my own stuff that I've revised a zillion times, I'd have to say for me it was Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I love historical fiction and it's so incredibly romantic that I read it three times. I also read her Mark of the Lion series twice. (Mind you... these both occurred before I started writing fiction myself. Who has time now???) That woman can sweep you away in a novel like any other. Gotta love an author who can do that.

For writers - What is the longest time you ever worked at perfecting one scene?

For me, that happened Thursday night. Over two hours on the first kiss. I am such a perfectionist, but I guarantee you'll love it. :) It's near perfect now. I'd share it with you but then it would spoil the book. It's yummy, literally.

Chill Out, Josey! is an awesome read. Not so much edgy, but well worth mentioning. :)

books in fiction for 2007 list!

I just finished Chill Out, Josey! last night. This book was such a scream that it made my list, though a few days late, but only because the holidays slowed down my reading schedule. This book was very hard to put down and kept begging to be read. I was literally drawn to it...constantly.

Teetering on the edge of 100, with 99 members.

Hey y'all, we've only been in operation three days (not quite) and we're already pushing triple digits. Wouldn't that be so nice if we made triple digits in advances (and I don't mean 100 bucks?) Anyway, keep passing the word around. Looks like there is an interest, wouldn't you say?

What is edgy Christian fiction?

According to dictionary.com the definition of edgy (for the purposes of this group) is

daringly innovative; on the cutting edge

So when you see a question with edgy in it, replace edgy with the definition if that will help. If I ask "What's the edgiest Christian novel you've read this year?" you would reflect on the most daringly innovative novel in Christian fiction and answer that wa
