As Paul compares the ministry of the Old Covenant (or, we might say Old Agreement) to the ministry of the new one, he refers to Exodus 34:29-35, where Moses comes down from Mount Sinai with instructions from God on stone tablets, and his face is literally glowing because of the time he spent with God. But the radiance didn’t last forever. And the delivery of God’s instructions to humanity did not solve our sin problem.
Still, there is a real glory in the “Old Agreement” that we are often quick…

If I have one wish in this life, it's that books - in their physical form - never become outdated. Don't get me wrong here. I think that there is definitely a niche and a market for online stories. I have partaken in such things myself, writing short stories that are only available online. However, nothing really beats going down to my local bookstore (or ordering online) a brand new…

For almost 200 years Miss Jane Austen has captivated the world. Why is it? She was not rich, had no title, and never even married. Yet, people love her work. I was introduced to Jane as a young girl of thirteen. I became enamoured with her style technique and her comedic situations. Not to mention that Jane…

In a controlled environment, resistance can be used to develop strength and improve endurance, it can cause you to go further than you thought you could ever go. Let's look at some more ways we encounter resistance as we set out on a quest to attain a goal. Any goal, whether it's finishing NaNoWriMo or getting flatter abs, comes with resistance.Think about it, where's the fun in a video g

The secret of happiness is a great mystery to many people, constantly searching for joy in everyday life. Is laughter the secret to true happiness? How about a simple, sincere smile and greeting as you pass a friend? I’ve noticed it’s quite effective. I suspect it’s because friendliness uplifts us, makes us feel warm inside. When someone goes out of his way to greet us, it feels mighty good. Laughter and smiles are contagious. They tend to spread from person to person. If you smile at a baby, he…

Well, I'm off to a good start for National Novel Writing Month (NanoWrimo). I have 8,637 words written (past my daily goal for today) and I could probably sit down and write out more for the rest of the day, but alas, I have other responsibilities, like 2 other novels I am already working on.
The story I decided to work on this year for Nano is a bit different than years past. I usually work on full novels that are sequels to the novels I have already put into play. One year I did a short story…

Well, I managed to work through my fear and had a book release party. At the party, I gave a speech and read aloud a chapter from my new novel,
Black Earth: End of the Innocence. This was a huge step for me personally, because I absolutely hate public speaking. I think I am okay once I get up in front of everyone and start speaking, but the trepidation that goes with those first few steps to the podium are enough to make me tremble. I would almost rather be eaten alive by mad clowns...I s…

I had to justify publishing with a secular publisher. Very secular. Just added glbt line right about the time I signed. Pretty much all the other christians who pubbed with them dropped out. Did I just want to be published so badly that I'd do anything? WWJD?
Cheap shot, I know, but honestly: who do you wa…

Ah. And we are finally here. My favorite time of the year: National Novel Writing Month.
Every November, fellow adventurous types such as myself participate in a worldwide event known as NanoWrimo - short for National Novel Writing Month. This frantic, coffee induced tradition has been an annual event of mine for the past 4 years and now, in my 5th, I sti…

If you've got a story or message you're passionate about that you want others to experience who have never heard about it, you have to engage in some form of marketing. But despite my passion for what I do and create, the marketing is my least favorite part of running this little company, second only to all the technical internet stuff I have to keep afloat.
The last few days have been filled with e-mail writing and e-mail sending. Not to folks I've interacted with before, but to folks with blo…

Continuing the defense of his reputation and ministry, Paul suggests the idea that he is commending himself with his previous words in this letter, or that he needs letters of recommendation. (v.1) He then counters this idea by pointing to the superior, living evidence of his ministry’s integrity: The Corinthians themselves.
The lives of those in the Corinthian church acted as a living letter of validation for Paul’s ministry, because of the outward evidence they displayed of God in their heart…

Hi Everyone!
It is my pleasure to announce the release of Spirit Blade Productions’ latest audio drama, “Pilgrim’s Progress: Similitude Of A Dream”!
Based on the classic allegory by John Bunyan, this re-imagining retains the rich layers of philosophy and theology contained in the original, while repackaging it in the form of a mythical fantasy adventure. Monsters, magic, danger and discovery all await your ears and imagination! The epic story of one man’s journey may just be your story as well…
