I'm learning a lot in recent months about how to write better. It's amazing how little I know. I have learned not to bother with anything that does not move the story forward. And, in doing so, I have had to sacrifice a character. I am so sad. I really liked the little brother, but he did not move the story forward -- only thing about him even remotely relevant was he had a disease. We were on a cruise in that picture of me. Usually I'm running around in jeans and a t-shirt, or sweats. That picture was about the only decent one I could find of myself. I have a habit of running the other way when someone's clicking pictures.
My thirteen year old daughter is quite the little photographer, and she insists she's going to take a better picture of me to replace that one.
