Terrie;
Yes, I've found my twin...a real good friend with so many similar interests and trivialations. I hear you so loud and clear.

I lost so many abilities, it was as if I was ninety years old. Thank the Lord, many/most of these abilities are back. It has taken years, but a journey I still praise God for all the wonderful people He has placed in my life.

My first novel, is a healing book. I learned how to forgive my worst enemy. I didn't outline, just pants it. Amazingly, the villain ends up the hero at the end of the story.

Some good news...I'm off to Cuba today. I'll be able to chat with you more when I return in two weeks.

Take care and good luck in the writing...discovering your new voice of true inner-self.

Hi Terrie;

You are more than welcome. Boy, our bio's sound similar. I was forced into retirement almost three years ago at the age of 41, after teaching full time for twenty years. Yet, God has a 'funny' way of working and rounding the 'ol paths. No regrets my way.
God bless.

About Me:
When I was a little kid, there were three people I most admired. Clown and entertainer, Emmett Kelly thrilled me. Chef Julia Child amazed me. And, my fifth grade English teacher, who had survived Auschwitz, moved me. She'd tell the class if we ever stopped reading, we may as well stop thinking; advice I still appreciate to this day!

I hit the road first, with the my size-15 yellow mary-janes, my big red nose, and my trunk o' magic. I found out it takes a lot to get some people to crack a smile! When my contract ended, I landed a position at the NBC affilliate in Denver where I found out it helps to be able to smile! After several years of writing the news I moved to the Promotions/Public Affairs arena. I found out I would do anything just to see some of my clients even think about a smile! There were entities who were truly in need, and I was so honored to work with them!

I continued in the business until I realized I needed a change and began writing for events, organizations and non-profits. As long as I was writing, I was happy! All the while, I continued to honor the words of my teacher by reading so much I'd find myself dreaming whatever I'd read! Except in my dreams, I'd make slight changes to the material. Of course, the Father was gently nudging me into the next chapter in my life; I began editing!

A series of "life-altering events" took place and forced me into early retirement; at the ripe old age of 38! Now, several years later, I am still recovering/somewhat recovered. I find myself attracted to material which inspires, but is not necessarily inspirational. I get pretty tired of the "sticky sweet stuff" because life is just not that simple! Good romance is hard to find; on or off the page, and I love historical fiction! Favorite authors seem to revolve in my world because I'm a little too ADD, but those I tend to look forward to include Robin Gunn, Karen Kingsbury and a host of secular winners. If material makes me think, laugh out loud or stop to ponder, it's worth a nod! I love working with people who really want to express their own voice; we already know who the best sellers are, but why not strive for our own excellence, too!!!???

Oh, and as for admiring Julia Child...well, I love to cook anything and everything but more important, I love to see what others have cooked up! I'm told most people won't read cookbook copy; I'm not most people!

I'm currently in collaboration with a chef who had the mind-blowing opportunity to not only feed the bodies but minister to the souls of some of the top names in Hollywood. He can whip up quite the humble pie while dishing about his experiences...how delicious!
