About Me:
Homeschoolin' mama of three. Married for 18 years. We live on a ranch in Arkansas and raise grassfed beef and miniature horses. I also design gemstone jewelry. When I'm not attending to those things, I write.

My first book, No Other, is scheduled to release in May 2010 from Desert Breeze Publishing. It's sequel, In All Things, will release the following November.

A recurring theme in my books is fulfilment. We try to attain it through achievements, possessions and relationships, but true and lasting fulfilment is only found in the Lord.

Hi Guys, as promised I'm beginning the, "My Writing Journey," series this week. My first guest is author, Anne Patrick. I have to say that I was deeply touched by her story. My Writing Journey (posted from my blog)

This is a post that ran in my blog last week. It was a fun topic, so starting this Monday I'm running a series hosting other authors as the tell about their writing journey. I'll post the stories here as well.

Here's mine. (I copied, so some of my comments apply to previous posts)

As you guys know from my last post, DBP has contracted two novels from me (Contracts delivered, signed, and off in the mail tomorrow. It's official). Anyhow, I'm sitting here working on the rewrite for the second nov… Continue

What Controversial Issues Should Christian Fiction Address

Or should it address any? Maybe its sole purpose should be to provide wholesome entertainment for Christians?

I won't deny, there is a market for that. It may very well be the biggest market for Christian writers. But, is mere entertainment the best use of a writer's talent?

Hehe. My blog. Now I get to tell you what I think. And I can be as blunt and tackless as I want.

NO!

It boggles my mind how we, as Christians, can look at the example set before us by Jesus Christ himself, and yet lock o… Continue

I've been debating the whole Facebook thing for...wow...a long time. I'm afraid it will suck my 'spare' time into a swirling vortex. One of these days I'll be brave enough to make the leap...and you'll be one of the first to know, deal?

Hey, did you ever decide about your small press dilemma?

My Vikings are still sitting at a publishing house waiting for a thumbs up or down and I'm about a third of the way through with my mad man. What you up to?

Lots to do for me, too. But I want more time, not more me. I'd actually like about 10 lbs less me. :P

Hey girl ~ I totally relate to your dilemma with the whole small press thing. Black Lyon is a small press so I had to go through the same decision making process...although they did offer more than e-books. Yeah...prayer is definitely what you need. I'll get right on that chickie!

Shawna, you sound busy with your books. I know the agent search can be scary, but rewarding. Keep with it! Thanks for the comments about my site. It has been a mixed blessing living with hearing loss because of all the people whose lives have been touched by my being open and honest about it. That's interesting about your friends' children. Please feel free to refer her to my site. Many blessings to you!
