My latest review

Successful businessmen, Karl and Gunnar Bjornsen are on the verge of unimaginable wealth if only they could end their bitter feud. Hard work and their brotherly bond enabled them to start up a small pharmaceutical company in Norway and build it in to a profitable business in the US, with both families enjoying a privileged lifestyle. All that is threatened by their newest and most exciting new drug, one that can make people smarter, quicker and stronger.

Drawn in to the dispute is lawyer Ben Corbin who is retained by Gunnar in a legal wrangle which could destroy the company and any familial ties that remain. As the case evolves, Ben realises there is a lot more at stake than two brothers brawling when an investigative trip to Norway reveals secrets best left hidden about the brothers' activities and the potential side effects of the drug.

Rick Acker's sequel to Dead Man's Rule is excellent! I enjoyed the fast pace, intrigue and courtroom battles in this page turning novel. The premise of a wonder drug is eerily relevant and combining it with sibling rivalry, greed, power and the ever present black market makes this an enthralling and masterful read. Not having read Dead Man's Rule did not detract from the story but I will be seeking it out now given the quality of Rick's writing and the engaging characters of Ben and Noelle Corbin. Rick is an author to watch and one who will gain a strong following among male readers as well.

Hi Rel!
Yes, I received your character spotlight news. It sounds great, and I saved the email so I can participate as soon as I get this noose of revisions from around my neck. Whew! But Paying Piper (formerly Guarding Eden) is getting close to there. My editor is soooo good at making my story better :)

Ack! I thought this message board would tell me when people left comments!! So sorry to ignore you!

I hope I got the English accent down...we'll see. Are you on Bethany's publicity/press list?

Hey, Rel, I was actually wondering when you would get it -- sooooo glad you finally have it in your hot, little hands!! Can't wait to get your feedback on it. Hope you like it as much as i do (it's my favorite of all three books in the series!), but then I LOVE Charity (as I LOVED Scarlett O'Hara), which not a lot of people do. Happy reading, my friend.

Hugs,
Julie

HI Rel!

It's so good to connect with you again.
You have a nice page, here, and it's a pleasure to see your photo. We've corresponded, but I've never seen your face!

Thanks for being my friend (and I don't mean just on "Edgy writers". :)

Uh oh, I'm gonna be in trouble, but no, I don't have that series. I've heard a lot about it though. It's going into my TBR pile for certain.

I went to Italy for 3 weeks in 2006 for research (and play :-). I hope you make it back. It was so gorgeous. I want to go back soon, too!
