I absolutely LOVE Phantom of the Opera! I read the book in high school and saw the Opera live in LA twice. Such an amazing story!

About Me:
I'm a crazy homeschooling mom who can't seem to just be happy living in the "real" world. I draw, write, and read far more than is healthy. Is there a 12 step program for people addicted to using their imagination? I think I might need it. :D

I'm back....

And I'm stunned. I'll never be the same again.

I certainly won't be the same writer.

Orson Scott Card is an AMAZING teacher. He pushed us to our limits and then pushed us even further. This workshop is definitely not for the feint of heart. So anyone considering subbing: good luck! But be ready for torture if you get in. LOL!

It was both a boost to my ego and a tearing down as well. I got great feedback and OSC said I was a "very good writer" but I finally re… Continue

Amazing News!!!!

I haven't told very many people because I was fairly sure I had no chance, BUT....

I submitted to Orson Scott Card's Literary Boot Camp last month. He chooses fifteen people and works with them for a week on their work. A huge dream come true for any spec author. So, I mailed in the first page of a short story I wrote a year ago and started nail bitting.

I got the news yesterday that I got picked as one of the fifteen. WOW! I'm stunned! I… Continue

Hi! Thanks for the friend request, and sorry it took me so long to respond. I just graduated my oldest son, went on a 10day vacation (to a seminar) and then came home to all the chaos left from my vacation. :-) I will come back tomorrow and check out your work - from the comments, I can't wait to 'check you out.' :-) And yes, there must be a 12 step program for people like us, lol!

Thanks for reading my "sell sheet", Rachel and for your comments! The term "sell sheet" came from a specific agent's website I came across last year, although I think other people call it other things and I really don't know what the "across-the-board" terminology is for whatever that page is! All I know is, it comes right after the Table of Contents in my proposal and (hopefully) makes them want to keep reading! Thanks again!

And by the way... how is "Golden" coming?

Wow, Rachel, I love your artwork...makes me feel really guilty for neglecting my drawing. I burned myself out in college, and moved on to other obsessions, but I've been feeling the bug again. Maybe writing has unleashed the creative monster in me once more...
Check out my site--I do have one drawing I did--many, many eons ago--as my main site icon. http://mysite.verizon.net/resqdu0v/

BTW--we're fellow homeschoolers, too.

Rachel-I've been subbing MS and HS literature a lot lately and I'm sending all the Twilight-obsessed girls to your website! I've been raving about your writing and illustrating, so if you get a lot of hits from girls in Iowa, you'll know why! Any news on book pub yet? I can't wait to buy one of your titles!
