I know what I enjoy reading and that's what I try to write (as yet unpublished). I enjoy character driven stories. Yes, I want tense situations, but I also want tension in the characters lives. I like main characters with flaws that propell them t...

I like almost any suspense/mystery, whether it be historical, set over in England or modern day cozy mysterys, or a great detective as long as it is a clean written book. I do not read the ones that have the spicy erotic romance in it. As a book r...

You must read Boneman's Daughters then! I just finished it and it was awesome. I've read quite a few books by Ted Dekker, and Boneman's Daughters is one of the best so far. I haven't read Adam yet, but that will go on my list. Kiss is great, too.

Hi Nike! Yes, I'm really interested to see how this novel will be received. I'm a non-fiction writer, but this book is the first in a series that addresses real issues of injustice in the world. The next one, Sacred, is about the child sex-slave industry. Heavy, I know, but it's what I do for a living!

Hi, there! Thanks for commenting on my wall! You have good reason to be tired, too. Foster care kids are a big challenge. I was a foster parent for many years. It's how we ended up adopting! Once we adopted the twins, they were more than we could handle so we didn't do foster care anymore. :-)

We foster moms have to stick together! I'll say a prayer for you today!

Write again soon! I'm on facebook as Karla K Akins if you're on facebook. Message me anytime!

Hi Nike,
My settings are primarily South Texas.
Burden of Faith starts in Bandera, a small town near San Antonio, then quickly moves to San Antonio itself. Maria, the main protagonist travels across the border into Mexico, but just for a day. Although I live near Fort Worth, in North Texas, I have several years experience in the South.
Hope things are well with you ... Dean - www.deanmagdalthompson.com

Ted Dekkers "Adam," Haunting

Where have I been? I can’t believe this is the first Ted Dekker book I’ve read. It certainly won’t be the last.
This supernatural horror story doesn’t read like a Christian novel. Sure, it explores themes of good and evil by following the life story of a demon-possessed serial killer. Howe… Continue

Blood, Gore & Guts Can Be Fun

Creating murder and mayhem with the pen is a blast for most mystery writers. The Christian mystery, thriller, suspense and crime fiction writers I interact with are having a ball with their writing. Here are some tips for having fun writing crime fiction.
