That's cool. I think talents is passed on to some extent, but I think the fostering is even more important. It's good that they have both of you to work with them. My mom made me take piano lessons when I was young and I hated it because I thought only girls played the piano. Boy, was I stupid! I learned a lot, but I could have learned and done so much more.
My best friend from high school and I tried for years to start a Christian rock band. We could have done the rock band; it was the Christian part that made it hard to find good players. It was a big deal when he finally gave up his drums and sold them. It was like that defining moment that said, "Okay, I have to grow-up now." I think he still wishes he had them. Are you going to pass the skills on to your children?
My Friend,
May God shine his GLORY upon you. and through you, and brighten your day. Please take a moment now to give thanks for what you cherish most in your life. Recognize also, the other gifts he has bestowed upon you. Have a wonderful day.
Yes, I understand, Matt... My wife and I are constantly vying for computer time. I usually only get to log onto LotRO on the weekends, but because of my forum persona, I'm actually very well known in the game community. /sigh
Anyway, when that day comes, first make sure that you schedule your gaming very tightly so it doesn't throw you off track with your writing and family life. That is VERY important and I learned it the hard way. (Nervous laughter...) Next, roll on the Landroval server. It's the best. Look for PastorInsanity in the forums.
You'll know me when you see me. ;-)

About Me:
I am 37 years old and have been married for twelve years to Jodi. We have two kids: Alex(8) and Meghan(6). We live in Struthers, Ohio where I work as a bakery manager and my wife is an agent with Metlife. I have been writing now for 6 years and I absolutely love it. For the first time in my life, or maybe the second time, I know what I want to do. I believe that this is God's destiny for me.
I have been a Christian since I was eight, strayed when I was 18, and walked through the world until I was 23. I learned a lot from my rebellion which I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I graduated from college with a bachelors degree in fine arts majoring in painting and minoring in philosophy, so I always questioned whether or not my paintings even existed. I have always enjoyed music, playing drums since I was 14 and tinkering with the keyboard. I also love playing video games of all sorts with what little time that I have left at the end of the day.
Favorite music:Everything except country and gangster rap, but mostly the heavier stuff
Favorite show of all time: The Tick
Favorite author: Anne Rice
Favorite movie: It's a toss up between any of the Star Wars movies and any of the Lord of the Rings movies
