I have always loved to read Chick Lit-type books, even before chick lit was "chick lit." When I was about twenty years old, I was introduced to the Alphabet Series by Sue Grafton. From the moment I finished, "A is for Alibi," I knew I wanted to write like her one day.
The first twenty-five pages of my novel, Mind over Madi, has finaled in three separate national contests, including the 2007 RWA, Chick Lit Chapter's Get Your Stiletto in the Door contest, the 2007 FaithWriters Page Turner Contest and, most recently, the 2008 ACFW Genesis Contest (Chick lit category).
As I await my dream of becoming a published author, I work as a freelance writer. My work has been published in greeting cards (Blue Mountain Arts and soon-to-be DaySpring), print magazines, online periodicals and several anthologies. I have also ghostwritten dozens of web content articles, newsletters, and interviews, and I perform various freelance tasks for clients, such as research, e-book and article editing, and message boards moderating.
I am a member of ACFW and FaithWriters.com. I attend a huge, Spirit-filled church (Resurrection Life) where I am regularly fed and continue to grow in my Christian walk.
For fun, I enjoy reading, writing (duh), bargain hunting, eBaying (buying and selling), playing board games with my kids, reality television, going to the movies and indulging in my ultimate addiction...computer games! (and you thought I was going to say chocolate)
