I'm just doing the final proof of my book Homeless Like Me - which deals with homelessness and homosexuality (and of course love and unbelief)
My next book is about Native American basketball and spirituality (this is my most ambitious project to date - and probably ever).
Take care and keep the faith! Good to hear from you.

Hey Lisa! How're the cop ridealongs going? Learning any fun, new words or phrases? LOL! Just wanted to let you know I updated my "sell sheet" (a while ago--but just got it reposted here!) and moved some things around. Thanks so much for the advice! Sometime I'd love to have private chat about agents and such--do you ever gmail live chat? If so, I'll send you my email address.

Yay!!! I'm glad you could see it. My mom couldn't see it very well either, so I had to change it. And I got a new layout from the selection, not very Airborne like, but still nice. My profile pic is good enough, LOL!!! Thank you, I can't wait to post Part Two and Three!!!!!! :-)

I believe there is a place on the ECFL homepage where members' profiles are featured. You could message Michelle Sutton for a better answer!

Not yet. I'm not holding out my hopes too much. I recently subscribed, and most of the stories in the winter edition seem to have a foreign culture element. The one I sent is set in 1930s Arkansas.

Hi there Lisa - thanks for the messages. I just find you SO funny .... Yes, I live in South Africa, a very beautiful country. I have visited good friends in Cincinnatti and would love to come to America again, but at the moment renovating. My older sister has decided to divide her home in half and Praise God, I am the proud owner of the other half. So busy making changes. Very thrilling! Eek, I need to change my profile some and let my friends know that I was ACTUALLY healed of the glandular fever/fibro +/-4 weeks ago. Trust me I was so bad I couldn't hold cups, open taps or bottles ... I was weak and desperately ill, yet as a single woman (certainly single and satisfied), I STILL had to drag myself out of bed and get to work. Very, very painful time. But Praise God I am through it. Love your photographs as well, especially the colored leaves. Also thought the pic of the kids on the rock is stunning! Be blessed and wonderful to have you as a friend!

About Me:
I'm a mom of 7 children (ages 6, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 22) who home schools and loves to write. I drink way too much coffee, and consequently am usually moving way too fast. When I get hold of something, I usually don't let go until it's either dead or at least worked over pretty well. I don't know if that means I'm compulsive or just focused. I will write. Until I'm better at it. Until the cows come home. Until you tell me to go away because you've had enough. I will write. I can't not.

Everything I have is a WIP (I feel so smart - I'm using a new acronym!).
1. Currently heading toward publishing with a 2-part series, Stoning the Crows. Part 1 is Operation Scarecrowe (the spelling is not a typo) and Part 2 is View from the Crowe's Nest. It's undercover cops, cops, high school kids, a rape ring (in the high school), a youth group leader, gangs and drugs. It actually started as a romance, believe it or not. It has an angel in it, too.
2. The Dog at My Door is a story about a woman who lives alone and is coming down with Alzheimer's. She thinks people are playing tricks on her, and is glad for the stray dog who comes to live with her in her mountain home.
3. Two young kids, high school (again) who are dating and he loses interest, but she is obsessed with him. They get into an argument and he rapes her. He leaves town, never looking back, but the guilt haunts him until his life begins to unravel. Some years later, their paths cross again, and he is trying desperately to clean up his act. What he finds out when he sees her again is enough to bring on an asthma attack and his friends nearly call 911. God's healing touch is sometimes a knife, cutting away that which will keep us from Him.
4. Don't know yet what this one will be called - maybe Guardians of Liberty (if it's not taken). It's medieval, castles, throne stealing, death by pirates, poison, dungeons beneath the castle, a Scribe who is keeping secrets, a demon, an old Book that was banned by the Church, and a young queen (age 12) who rises to the occasion. Oh! And there's a mischievous white lemur.
5. I also like to write old western ballads. I have Big Iron, and am working on others. Talk about 'edgy,' I wrote Della and the Dealer...

I also enjoy writing poetry - maybe I'll post them as blogs here.

The final stretch for my novel

Mean Street

Last week I joined Mean Street Ministries.

We walked the ‘Fax,’ knocking on motel doors to ask if people needed anything. We had home-made burritos to offer, toiletries and bready sweets. There were diapers and wipes, coloring books and crayons. And Bibles for those who wanted them. The burritos were really good. Lord, bless the hands that made them. ‘Motel Row,’ as it is called, is a place where many people have been tossed, either by circumstances or by choice. They are a mixed salad of wilti… Continue

Code Blue

Last week, late in the evening, someone called and I missed it. I was getting ready to go watch a movie with my youngest two when I saw the flashing light on my answer machine. I seriously would’ve gone to bed not knowing about this call… The message came from Elk Run, where my mother is living, and said, simply, “Give us a call as soon as you get this message.” Nothing else. I called right away, thinking ‘here we go.’ I called three times, but no one answered. Blast! So I called again, and a ma… Continue

Hammy in the Basement

I have 3 boys who live in the basement, which generates a lot of jokes about boys who sit around in their underwear, drinking beer and playing video games. But that's another story.

The laundry room also resides in the basement, and there is a long metal pipe, about 3 inches in diameter, that goes up through the ceiling and serves as a vent for all the gasses generated by the, uh, equipment (ha! you thought I was going to say 'boys' didn't you??).

So one day Brian walks into the laundry room a… Continue
