An online critique group where we edgy Christian writers can give and receive edgy Christian critique on our wips. Hopefully delivered in a helpful and constructive fashion! =)

I'd talk to John Robinson. He successfully made the leap from Christian publishers to a secular publisher while remaining a Christian who writes in an edgy fashion. http://www.johnrobinsonbooks.com/ Tell him Phy sentcha! ; )

Ah, ok. thanks. I know I've talked to a couple of publishing houses and they all basically say no profanity, exessive violence, or gratouitous sex scenes. My character in what I'm writing is a recovering alcoholic/drug user who was beaten as a chi...

To me, it is Christian fiction which is daring. Of course, what the CBA considers daring, the rest of us might just consider 'free.' So an edgy Christian story, to me, is daring fiction that features some element of the Christian panorama (sin, g...

About Me:
I'm the single mother of seven (or six, depends on the day) children. Two I acquired the old-fashioned way. They are twenty-one and eighteen - unbelievable, but true. The other batch I came by via adoption, three are still at home, ages sixteen down to seven. Most of my adopted and foster children are special needs. My two original offspring are not. No, I am NOT a saint - well, except in the sense that all believers are. I just did what I believed God wanted me to do...

Maybe it's time to weave all this experience into something that will glorify Him.

I've been writing unofficially (that is to say, mostly unpaid) for about eleven years, but now that things are a little quieter on the home front, I'm finally buckling down.

My heart is definitely edgy. I didn't come to Christ free of baggage and neat as a pin, I don't see why our fiction is supposed to reflect some bizarre Pleasantville mentality, or why those of us who see things a little more like life actually is can't have a voice out there in publisher land. Isn't it all about grace?

So Yay for this site and the writers and readers who are banding together. Yay, I say!!

BTW, don't be fooled by the tulips. I happen to live in the Northwest and I LOVE tulip time up here. You can love tulips and be edgy. Yep, you can!!

New Network Site!

Hi guys -

I just wanted to let everyone know that I started a new group: Edgy Christian Critters.

It's an online critique group for those of us who are a little off the traditional CBA path. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm finding it difficult to find online critique groups that get me.

=)

Anyway, this is a place specifically for critiquing, and I'm excited to see what God does with it!
Just look under the group tab.

Hope to see you there,

Kathy

Yes - we are practically neighbors - though I avoid Seattle as much as possible. I hate cities (especially driving in them)
God bless!!

Kathy,
I put a bit more on the "Critter" for general consumption.
I may be done (wouldn't that be nice) for a while.
Let me know if you prefer to delete it.

Hi Kathy,
I just placed some recommended initial guidelines on the "Critter."
Take a look and let me know if you approve ... or not.
