Agreed! How do you show what Christ can really do inour lives, if we don't show what we're like without Him? I think we also need to show that even when we know Him, we stumble. How else do you deal with the concept of forgiveness?

You know, we're supposed to be Christians 24/7 and that to me means being real, too. How are we supposed to ever show people that they need what we have found in Christ if we pretend to be perfect, or better than we really are, when we are all sinne…

Zaria, Then we've met the same people! I haven't met a perfect one yet either. Most people will tell you that good writing needs to deal with conflict. Why not write about the real conflicts in real people (even the Christians) instead of contriviin…

Schizo is a good way to describe it Charles. LOL But I think it's more that "some" like to separate their secular lives from their Christian lives. If you put all of that in a Christian novel...they are confused. It's okay to listen to secular mus…

LOL! I'm too old to be uncomfortable about much of anything anymore, or think that I know and understand it all And I too young to know about those nasty things like sex ... ;-P

OMG, yes! I'll never forget hearing a ''Christian Author" say she doesn't mind profanity, murder, violence, mayhem and sex in secular novels, but would be bothered by them in Christian novels. Can anyone say, 'schizophrenia,' boys and girls?

Very intelligent article, and I couldn't agree more, but it's only a start. I just wish somebody could explain to me why decapitation, running someone through with a sword or watching people burn to death is acceptable for good Christian writing, bu…

Hey karla, nice bike! I ride my own bike as well. Check out my pictures. What kind of bike do you have? I like your idea for your book. It sounds very interesting. I am also thinking of weaving in details with motorcycles in the stories I'm thinking of.

Hi, Karla. Thanks for the invite. I've met two people from Indiana today. That's exciting. I'm intrigued by your WIP.

My wife teaches special education and she is the go-to person for the autistic students. My heart goes out to you. I'll pray be praying for you.

Greetings Karla! Thanks for the invite. Your WIP sounds intriguing and certainly has some edgy conflict already built in. You do indeed have your hands full. I have 5 kids and over the 4th was reading a ministry newsletter (as I was pulling what hair I have left out because of their ongoing rivalry). The gist of the letter made a point to the effect that God specifically chooses to loan those specific children to me for a season. For some reason in his infinite wisdom, he picked me to be their father. That truth completely changed my perspective.

I share this because God has obviously given you twins that he knew would be in the best hands possible ... yours. Run with that and endure the race.

God knows you are tired, but he will lift you up. He will equip you through his grace. Just trust him for the next moment. The very next step.

I pray he invigorates you with the Holy Spirit.

Hi Karla, When I sent the friendship request, I thought I was replying to yours. I would love to be your friend. I, too, have daily struggles, and I am tired. I will keep you in my prayers. You have a big load to carry. I also love "Edgy Christian Fiction", but I read lots of other genres too. Write again, when you get a chance.

About Me:
I am a writer and reader. I am also a mom and grandma. I teach full time in a school I started for kids with different learning needs. I have twins, age 13, with autism, and a 17 year old with bipolar still at home. I am tired. My current WIP is about a pastor's wife who joins a biker club and upsets her husband's conservative church. I ride my own motorcycle and have 4 dogs.
