the CWG (Catholic Writers Guild) conference? Since I coordinate that and hadn't heard about it, I'm wondering where you got that info.

There is no sure-fire template. As you've found, each publisher has its own preferred format and its own focus. Have you talked to your agent?

OK, so I FINALLY got my copy of Firestorm of Dragons--I had ordered it along with a preorder, not realizing I'd have to wait--nearly forever--for it to get Firestorm.

LOVED DragonEye PI.

Guess that means MMM goes on my Mother's Day wish list :).

I know what you mean. What I really hate, is when I go to bed at 4:00, and my characters keep yakking until 6:00. Earplugs don't work when the noise is inside your head!

Yeah, who needs it. I went to bed at four this morning.

Your bio made me laugh: 'tends to sleep in her "spare" time'. That's funny, but so true.

Do you homeschool? We do.

Ack, I just noticed I wrote "Katrina" instead of "Karina"--sorry! You probably get that a lot, but I know what it's like to have you're name tweaked. I'm always being called "Kate". I'll be more careful next time!!!

Well, Katrina, I told you Firestorm of Dragons was on my Christmas list, but Santa (aka, my hubby) disappointed me--of all the books on my wishlist, it was the only one he didn't get me. Men! So, I took matters into my own hands and ordered it myself today :). It's along with a pre-order of another novel, so it may take a few weeks to come, but I've got such a stack of books that I actually did get for Christmas it will take me that long to read them all anyway!

Hope're you're having a great holiday!

Haven't checked out Terry Burns. I've queried a few agents, some Christian some secular. I think my book falls somewhere in between :). Thanks SO much for the suggestion. YA seems to be really hard to find a home for, especially fantasy. Add Christian to the mix, and you just have a mess.

I knew Firestorm was secular, but it looks really great. And I love the whole concept of DragonEye PI. I can't wait to read your work! I like the way your website is set up as well. I've been checking out author websites like crazy--I've had my own for a few months, but am still tweaking here and there and haven't promoted it much. I will soon, though. I finally decided to get a personalized domain name rather than the impossible to remember line of gobbledy-gook Verizon assigned me :).

Well, it's nice feeling like I "know" someone now--both here and on CF2.

From Nuns in Space to a down-and out Faerie dragon working off a geas by St. George, her work takes quirky twists that keep her amused--and have won the EPPIE award for best sci-fi and the Mensa Owl for best fiction. In addition to juggling the stories from at least three different universes, Karina is President of the Catholic Writers' Guild, owner of Catholic Writers Online, and teaches writing seminars on-line. With four kids, five pets and a very understanding husband who is an officer in the Air Force, she tends to sleep in her "spare" time.

Got my cover artist!

Roe Mesquita is the cover artist for *Magic, Mensa and Mayhem.* We've been swapping ideas and sketches back and forth this week and I'm very excited to see the cover. He has a great eye for caricature, which is what we wanted for this cover, since it's a comedy. Read more at www.fabianspace.blogspot.com
