I never thought I would get the chance. Who imagines they will get to look at and then read the translations of the world's oldest copy of the Old Testament? I'd heard about them. I understood their significance. I just never believed I would see ...

Amen Zaria, Thank you for sharing that with us. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to acknowledge our sin and then to stand firm as we are battered by those around us. As if repentence isn't enough. We all struggle with it. Lust, lying, ange...

This has become a great topic. First let me say Donna...I love that concept for a story. It has so many elements. My son was born 16 years ago out of wedlock. Unfortunately his father didn't think enough of me to marry me or be a part of his lif...

It's true Ruth Ann. I'm sure the woman caught in adultery appreciated Jesus' forgiveness far more than those who stood by and watched. We are so bi-lateral. We don't recognize that God is multi-lateral. He sees our sin from so many different direc...

I don't get why a woman who works at a crisis pregnancy center would take that attitude. I agree that it's tragic that Christians can be the most condemning group there is. How are people supposed to find out about God's grace and mercy is those w...

Oh and your books sound like they are created to meet some really serious needs in society. I'm thrilled to see these kinds of books coming into the market. Ultimately, it's about Christ and what he wants for the unborn child. My next book comes w...

I think that people appreciate God much more after having gone through something like this. I know it's the "big" sins I've done that make me more grateful to Him. Regardless of what we do, He can make good from it. I'm a firm believer in redempti...

That is so true Michelle. People need to understand that we all have our traumas. We've all struggled. We've all been slapped down one way or another. Even the wealthy have their hurts. And we all are faced with choices. We can wallow in them like...

Aw, shoot, that just about made me cry. Why don't Christians see the big picture. He has a different economy than we do. He sees the other side and just what it takes to break us so that we turn to him. Oy. I wish people would come to deal with th...

Thank you for joining us Ruth Ann. It is a very interesting aspect of the side of Christianity that we tend to overlook--one of complete grace and mercy. And Michelle, it goes one step further. Because the church can't forgive, the mother can't fo...

Yes, the way I see it is this...the lady that runs the crisis pregnancy center was so condemning and I was thinking, "What did you want her to do? Have an abortion so no one would know?" Sheesh. The thing is that for some reasons Christians don't ...

Wow. What a great topic this turned into! :-) I agree with everything that you two have said. It's not the sin that defines us but what we do afterwards that do, and that goes to people responding to what they see as well.

It's a perfect case of not seeing the log in our own eye as we judge the person with the speck in theirs. Jesus handled that one really well with the story of the unforgiving servant. The guy owes the king millions and should have all he owns and ...

I'm very new at this.

I'm very new at this and hope to connect to others who love edgy writing with a faith message. My most recent novel, Vengeance, has been nominated by the publisher for three awards in the Canadian Christian Writers awards in June. I'm pretty excited about that. But what is more exciting is how God uses a novel--a made up story--to reach people who struggle with the desire to get even. He is amazing!

The Dead Sea Scrolls

I never thought I would get the chance. Who imagines they will get to look at and then read the translations of the world's oldest copy of the Old Testament? I'd heard about them. I understood their significance. I just never believed I would see the Dead Sea Scrolls. And then they came to the ROM.

The Royal Ontario Museum is a a bit of a conundrum. One can travel through rows of bones and artifacts and read snippets that, in essence, speculate the age of those bones (many of them not real bone… Continue

Understanding this site

Ok, so I'm still green at this. I haven't figured out where those comments go when someone leaves them so Nancy, I'm sorry I haven't replied. I can't find your comments. And for those of you who have left me notes commenting on the vague nature of my next book, I am posting the history of it below. Obviously, I don't want to say too much yet. That would just ruin the whole story now wouldn't it? But I can tell you as much as there is listed below.

What would you do if you knew of a solution to… Continue

My Next Book

What would you do if you knew of a solution to early term abortion? Go to a specialist and share it? Go to the media? What if they chose to ignore you? How would you deal with it?

That was precisely the position I was in 15 years ago when I realized that there WAS a solution to this proceedure. It was a beautiful solution and an easy one. So I, in my naivity went to one of Canada's abortion doctors and told him about my idea. He paused for a few moments and I'll never forget his words.

"Yes, I… Continue

Romance and Mystery

Often the two go hand in hand. When one falls in love there is a mysterious air about the other--an unknown element which intrigues us. But all too often romance ends when the mystery ends. It doesn't have to be so. Having been married for almost 26 years I am well aware of the feeling that there is no excitement left but that feeling isn't permitted to linger long in our relationship. If it did, it would become the kiss of death to our marriage.

My husband and I made a pact when we said our vo… Continue

Novel Finalist

This week is the week of the happy dance. Last fall I took the plunge and entered a writing contest. I placed my novel Vengeance in three categories in The Word Guild Awards. This is Canada's biggest Christian writers' guild and I took a deep gulp as I dropped my entry into the mail slot. And then came the waiting. It isn't easy watching the days tick by, knowing that a panel of people are reading your work and judging its merits. The book was entered in September; the contest judged in June. Si… Continue
