Do you have a list of your favorite books posted somewhere? I'd like to take a look.
Lately I've found that super overt Christianity bugs me, too. Maybe because sometimes it doesn't seem natural but more forced. I dunno.
I generally start to check out at that point, myself. I can't respect that.
It bugs me when characters are snide in their thinking, overly sarcastic (in their thoughts) and if they lie for stupid reasons (especially if they are supposed to be Christians).

The characters are very important. Respect, in particular, is a big need for me to justify their actions, and warrant my emotional investment in their story. If I don't respect a character, I'll find myself p...
I have to care about what happens to the characters. They have to feel real to me or I won't read more about their lives.
