I just wanted to check in and see how your summer went with writing! Keep at it! It took me 18 months of on-again-off-again writing between other projects, but I finally finished my contemporary novel last week! Hooray! Hope things are going well for you this year; I'm sure you miss Shelli, but I hope you've found someone to encourage you in your writing in her stead! Take care and write those fingers to the bone!

At 11:54am on May 16, 2008, Shawna Van Ness said…: Sorry it's taking me so long Alex--I want to give it a good looking-over. Don't get nervous. It's great and I love it--I'm using the "track changes" feature for the "looking at it from an editorial capacity" I promised you, and that always takes me a while. I've also had a lot on my plate this week. Yesterday was fun fun physical therapy at the hospital (sciatica is what results from those 14 hour writing days...) and about 6 hours straight (no lunch!) working on an article and query letter to a magazine. Today I've been hog-tied to my laptop doing some editing/re-write on my contemporary novel.

You are a gifted young writer and I'm honored to be reading your first draft! I'll get it back to you soon... keep writing!
