Looking for a Brainstorm/Critique partner

Hi everyone! My name is Jeannie and I write romantic suspense. I've been working on my first WIP for a little over a year now. I'm looking for a brainstorm/critique partner. Someone who can handle reading edgy fiction. I did have someone early on that I could go to for help, but unfortunately it fell through. I've tried being part of a writing critique group at my church, but my work is too edgy for them. I would never be able to read my work there. Too controversial. I recently joined another critique group, but that was a bust too. I was told to tame down the sexy scenes.

I'm looking for someone who could help me brainstorm ideas and critique my work. Give helpful input. I'm more than willing to help out someone too. It wouldn't just be a one way street. If you're interested hit me up. Who knows, this may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. :)

If you need more info about my WIP, or have any questions, just let me know.

Have you found a critique partner yet? We might work something out, as my WIP is at the stage where critiquing would help.

You know, this is a great idea, if it could be worked into the group. Romantic suspense isn't my thing, but I wonder if Michelle could work some forum magic to setup a partnering system for members? Match based on writing genre and style. Would require commitment by participants and perhaps an accountability system whereby they must post progress notices...

Just thinking out loud here. We could form a group for everyone seeking a critique/brainstorming partner. Name it based on genre. First post is requesting a partner. Thereafter, posts are around progress.

Dumb idea?

I don't think so, Kris. I think you're on to something. I just wonder how much it would take to set something like that up. Hmm. I know I would be interested in joining the group. I'm still looking for a critique/brainstorm partner. Nothing's panned out yet. So I'm still waiting.
