Edgy Christian Fiction Lovers

Readers and authors sharing great edgy fiction that inspires...

I just want to know how many authors here:
1) Have A publisher(big or small)
2)Have An Agent
3) Are Self-published
4) If published for the first time, got an advance
5)If you have an agent/publisher do you have to do all your own promotion?
6) Sell completed manuscripts or book proposals

Anyone that would like to answer my questions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello! so nice to meet you all!

1) Have A publisher(big or small) - Small publisher - White Rose Publishing

2)Have An Agent - not at this time. I've had two, let contracts expire.

3) Are Self-published - No.

4) If published for the first time, got an advance - Small advance. This publisher does higher royalties.

5)If you have an agent/publisher do you have to do all your own promotion? I do the majority of my promotion. They submit to review sites, and give advice, offer message loops, and the experience of fellow authors.

6) Sell completed manuscripts or book proposals - Completed manuscripts. I have one full length novel, All or Nothing, a short story, By Another Name, and a "free promotional read" - Tessa Takes a Chance. // I have a submission I've been working on from proposal now, and hope that we can continue with contracts, that way from here on out.

Hi, Carolyn,
1. - yes, to both: first book-big publisher; second-indy pubber
2. - no, not currently - I've had two
3 - no
4 - yes, the first book, no the second
5 - no
6. completed manuscripts so far, although I had a hit on a proposal at a conference, then wrote the chapters, then, at her request, wrote the entire book which she rejected

Man, it's a relief to see that others have to do their own promotions. I really get discouraged at times because it's so much work, but it's worth it. It's nice to see that others have to, also.

1. Publisher? Yes. I have 7 books published. The last two haven't been released because I have to wait for the reviews to come in, which takes 3 months.
2. Agent? No.
3. Self-published? No.
4. Got an advance? No, but have high royalties.
5. Promotion? Yes, I definitely have to do my own.
6. Sell book proposals? No. I've kept with the same publisher for all my books. I signed a contract to the effect.

Good luck!

I have a small publisher, not self-publishing. Wish I could get a good agent. No advances from small presses. Do lots of promotion - even the big guys often have to do some. I'm a novelist so I sell a completed book. If you'd like to learn more about my book, visit HTTP://WIDOWS-WALK.WEBS.COM
