Edgy Christian Fiction Lovers

Readers and authors sharing great edgy fiction that inspires...

Last night Virginia (Ginny) Smith was awarded the prize for top writer at the camp for 2008.

I was able to meet all of the people from here that indicated they would be at Mt. Hermon except one. It has been fun. We'll be posting insights etc on this blog later.

The big suprise for me was running into Tosca Lee who I did not know was going to be here. And I have met a bunch of very nice people - the highlight of the trip.

It was terrific meeting you, Don! And all the other edgy folks, too. Let's ALL go next year, and we can have an Edgy Retreat - what do you think?

Ginny, I was so proud of you when they called your name--although I had a feeling from the intro that you were the Writer of the Year. I'm all for an annual MH retreat. Oh my goodness. Meeting Don and Camille and Kimberley, and you Ginny. I learned so much and was so inspired. Do you think that's what they mean by a "mountain top experience" ?
Hope you are all rested and diving into new or continuing projects.

OMG !!!! I shoulda popped back in here sooner after MH and shared this photo. Was this a lucky shot of our "Star" or what!!!! I'm no photographer, I usually forget to use the stinkin thing when it's in my hand. I got lucky.
Congratulations, Ginny, my mt Hermon buddy, you deserve it!! You rock and I'm soooo glad we met!

And what a treat to meet Don, Carla, Myra, Kimberlee, ummm, help, what other edgies were there? I had some very amazing meetings and feedback, even after conference on the plane home. See my blog for details if you want to know, and follow the link to Randy Ingermanson's BLOG (mar 19) to see what he said about my first chapters. I still don't believe it.

I'm hammering out the rest of my novel as I speak. I hope to hear good reports back from all of you.

I love that picture, Camille! I clipped out a portion of it and posted it on my website here: http://www.virginiasmith.org/funstuff.html . Thanks so much for sending it to me. Do you know that's the only one I've received so far? Mt. Hermon took some formal pix the next day after the awards ceremony, but I haven't received them yet.

It was so good to meet you, and Don, and all the edgy folks!

Hopefully you met Merrie Destefano?
Thanks, Camille for sharing this picture. I don't own a camera so all my memories of Mt. Hermon are in my head. Please keep us posted on your dialog with the editor who requested your manuscript. I'm so jazzed for you!!

Myra, Carla & Camille

ooo, yeah, Me and Merrie are groupies on another blog. he he.

I'll try to post over on your new ning thing soon, but until then, some of the shots I took are on my last blog post:

www.camillecannon.blogspot.com

I didn't get any shots of Don. Poo! I'll have to look at them again, and remember who else I met there that you could invite, but right now I'm crunched for time as I need to FINISH MY MS now that it has been requested in full. Actually, 3 editors asked for it, and now I might have an agent. What happened? I was just going there to be a sponge. My head is still spinning.

I'm trying hard to write very quickly and very, very, very well. WE SHALL SEE, won't we? All in God's time.

So stay jazzed a while longer if you can, Don.

I had a notion to do this and finally took the step. I created a new social network at Ning for Mt. Hermon Alumni.
Please join at http://mounthermonalums.ning.com/
Camille, you can post some more pictures there!! Please invite other people to join us if they have attended Mt. Hermon.
