Here are the new releases for January 2008! Any of them edgy? Why???

Happy 2008! A new year filled with fresh promises and new opportunities to see God's glory shine through each of us.

This month's lineup of Christian fiction comes to you with quite a variety of releases. Also this month, there is a new Spotlight interview with debut author Elizabeth Goddard, author of the recently released Seasons of Love from Heartsong Presents. Be sure to stop by Jill's site and read Beth's interview and visit the websites of the following authors. Enjoy!

1. A Soldier's Promise, Book One in the Wings of Refuge Series by Cheryl Wyatt from Steeple Hill Love Inspired. A USAF Pararescue jumper and a special needs teacher teaming to make life matter to a dying child freefall into love and an unexpected family.

2. Every Good & Perfect Gift by Sharon K. Souza, from NavPress. A story about the kind of friendship we all wish for, the quest for motherhood in the 21st century, and a catastrophic illness that changes everything.

3. Family In His Heart final book in the Michigan Island Series by Gail Gaymer Martin from Steeple Hill Love Inspired. On a Les Cheneaux Island, a young woman escapes her past in Michigan's upper peninsula and meets a man hiding his own secrets and struggling to raise a rebellious teenage son.

4. Just Cause by Susan Page Davis from Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense. Laurel Hatcher must face trial for her husband’s murder, not once but twice.

5. Learning to Fly by Roxanne Henke from Harvest House. Learning to Fly is about parenting. Learning to love, live, and let go.

6. Seven Archangels: Annihilation by Jane Lebak. Satan has figured out how to destroy an angel...and he begins with the archangel Gabriel.

7. Shadow of Danger by Jeanne Marie Leach from Mountain View Publishing. Rachel faces jealousy, false accusations, an unknown danger, and a jail cell before being liberated by the man she loves but who could never love her.

8. The Restorer's Journey, Book 3 in the Sword of Lyric Series by Sharon Hinck from NavPress. A new, young Restorer confronts his destiny while Lyric, and the life of his mother, hang in the balance.

9. A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman by Baker/Revell. Faith O’Connor finds herself drawn to an Irish rogue who is anything but right for her. Collin McGuire is brash, cocky, and from the wrong side of the tracks, not to mention forbidden by her father. And then there’s the small matter that he is secretly courting her younger sister. But when Collin’s affections suddenly shift her way, it threatens to tear Faith's proper Boston family apart. (This is an awesome read! Guarantee you edgy fiction lovers will totally enjoy it!!!)

Happy reading~

I've read A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman (featured on the main page of this site) and it's jam packed with intense emotion, honesty, spirituality, and edginess. It ranks at the top of my list of favorites. That's why I can't stop ranting about it!

Okay, Michelle, like I asked before -- where do I send the check? Thank you SOOOOO much for all your plugs!! We're both VERY edgy girls, you and I, so your opinion is VERY important to me! Love ya, Julie

Did you read my VERY edgy sample partial chapter of the book I have coming out. :) It's on the FORUM page. Indulge me and even if you hate it...lie to me. :)

Cool! More great books!

I can't wait to read Jane's "Seven Archangels"! She's so talented! It's bound to rock!

I love Cheryl Wyatt so I cannot wait to pick up her new book...and I LOVED A Passion Most Pure...I read it in about a day I so could not put it down (of course when you are sick and a book can do that ....it must be pretty darn good!) I am in the process of reviewing that one for my blog.

You reviewing Cheryl's book for your blog?

Hmm I might...I usually just go with CFBA and FIRST but if I like a read I usually will let others know...but with my classes starting back sometimes I am lucky to read for CFBA and FIRST! But I am reviewing A Passion Most Pure in detail...I usually don't do that. I usually just tack a blurb at the end of the post for CFBA and FIRST about what I liked or disliked about the book and go with that. Sigh....I would love to review more if I could...maybe once grad school is over I can devote more time to it.

Did you get a review copy because of CFBA?

I'm looking forward to Jeannie Leach's book. I went to the website (www.trebleheartbooks.com) last night, and unfortunately it's not available quite yet. The publisher has had some life intrusions of a major & tragic kind. One of the challenges of small-press life is that if a small shop has a problem, everything comes to a screeching halt.

These Steeple Hill titles are edgy? I haven't read very many that can come close. Let's hope they are moving more and more into Edgy-Dom.

NO. They probably aren't edgy. But I figured if any were then the authors or people who read them in advance could comment on them. That's what I was hoping anyway.

WOW, Christy, thanks for your great comment on A Passion Most Pure AND for doing a full review on it!! That blesses my socks off! Can you send me the link when you review it?

Here's to a blessed 2008 for ALL of us edgy chicks ... and guys! :)

Hugs,
Julie

No, Cheryl's new book is not part of the CFBA, but A Passion Most Pure will be...February I think. Love Inspired is not edgy most of the time...there is a story line every once in a while that could border on that but when you read the rules before you submit a manuscript the are several that would take that line out of the edgy category.

Julie... your book is the first one I am doing a full review on so we shall see...I will send you the link :o)

Some edgey mangas for tweens and teens (my daughter's age) are coming out this month. The "Serenity" series of mangas have a great, complex heroine. They are adding, I think, 6 new books that are available now.
